Born and raised in Chicago Illinois, Eli Schmidt has been taking pictures since he was a freshman in high school. Upon graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2001, he moved to New York to pursue a career in photography. Eli’s candid documentary style , technical training and love of photo history remain recognizable characteristics of his work today.Eli works across the genres of still life, portrait, celebrity and advertising photography for magazines including Oprah Magazine, Esquire, T:The New York Times and Interview Magazine. He most recently worked at Heast Magazines as Senior Staff Photographer and Videographer. In addition to his commercial work, Schmidt teaches part time at The International Center of Photography in New York.
