Artist Daniel Arsham for Elle Man Russia

Daniel Arsham discusses his creative process, the conceptual aspects of his work and how he views himself within art history. Images and video allow the viewer to go deeper inside the artist’s studio. Arsham says ‘The works have this appearance that they’re disintegrating or fallings apart, but they’re made of a material that we associate with growth; crystal and materials like that. There is this play that the works could be falling apart or re-forming’

By not locating these things in time, there is a fluidity about the works, about where they’re situated, about where the audience is in time . The works themselves are shifting from future to past and the audience is participating in that.’
